The Battery in my model dv9000 computer is dead. It is plugged into AC power and the computer works fine. The battery icon shows AC power is connected but, the lightning bolt isn't showing indicating that the battery is not charging.

So If I want to change my micro to a new faster dual-core version, will I have to re-load Windows (Vista), etc. or can I just swop the old micro out for the new one and boot up as normal? (The old one is also a dual-core). Both Intel types. Thanks in advance.

I have installed the software for the controller. The software sees the Dual Strike but when I goto select properties to configure the controller I am greeted with the following message: There was an internal error.... I have recently ugraded XP to Vista Business. I have a RAID-1 with Silicon Raid drivers. The computer works fine as it used to but I find that the Vista defrag command in the C-drive properties box does not work, i.e. nothing happens. I have no hardware connected to my laptop (no printers, flash drives, iPods, etc.), but the computer keeps making the "safely remove hardware" beep every few minutes. The icon to do this quickly appears on the bottom taskbar for a second. I was able to catch it and open it, but it shows no hardware. How can I stop the comoputer from thinking something is attached?
