utorrent and teredo by
Alex
Hi,
I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 x64 and today i installed uTorrent 1.8
( stable ).
When I open it ( utorrent ) and I look in "Options - Preferences - '
General '" the Install IPv6/Teredo button is disabled. Why? Is "teredo"
enabled by default since I installed the OS?
( I am connected to the Internet by a router through Wireless as connection
type. )

Vista: Out-proc servers vs requireAdministrator by
Alex Chmut
Hello everybody,
By design, our product has a set of applications which have
"requireAdministrator" in the manifest and a set of other which have
"asInvoker".
These applications use (when needed) a signle multi-use out-proc server
which has "asInvoker" in the manifest and does not need to be run elevated
(we even prohibit it from running elevated).
The problem that we see is when a client app...

Vista: Impersonation across Intergrity Levels by
Alex Chmut
Hello all,
I have an app that runs elevated that talks to an unelevated app via COM.
I want the COM servers in the unelevated app to be able to impersonate the
elevated client to perform certain file operations with full admin rights.
Whatever CoInitializeSecurity() parameters I have been trying to apply on
the client does not give the server appropriate rights ending...

A non-Administrative User to run program with Administrative previlidges by
Alex Ferenstein
In Unix, I can set a CHMOD bit to allow an executable to be run with Owner's
(even Root's) permissions by another user.
I am using a Vista program SIW (http://www.gtopala.com/) that requires
Administrative privileges (to monitor some system parameters, like
temperature). I would like non-Administrative users to be able to run this
program with these privileges. I've looked at NTFS permissions...

Alex of the Alex
i have software programs on backed up onto CDR which im trying to install
onto VISTA but when i do it sort of half installs them but then says i must
enter the original legtimate software CD for them to work properly. but i had

Security Center Page Inaccessible by
Alexander_Phils
I've lost access to the Security Center page. All components, i.e.,
Firewall, Defender, etc. are still individually accessible and working fine
with my Norton 360 v2. However all links to the Security Center page:
Welcome Center, Control Panel, and Help & Support no longer work. I've tried
the System File checker and System Restore utilities to no avail.
Short of reinstalling Windows...

Uninstalling Norton 2006 by
Alfred Kaufmann
I just went through a Windows XP Home - Vista Home Premium upgrade
and it went fairly smoothly with the exception of Norton Anti-virus.
The instructions said to update your anti-virus program and then
disable it while you are upgrading to Vista. (It should have said
uninstall the anti-virus program) After the Vista upgrade it
complained about Norton Anti-Virus 2006 and it recommended...
