or can i ask another way. How to send a URL link to my colleague so that they

The right-click and copy as text option will work to create the network path
to the folder only if you have followed that path to get to the folder. Start from Network icon on the desktop, select your own machine and then the shared folders as required to get to the destination folder. Right click in the breadcrumb bar and choose copy as text.
