My brand new HP Notebook seems to work fine and I'm able to view the desktop fine on either the generic monitor or my new ViewSonic VX1935wm external monitor. I have been trying to rip the music from a CD with media player. The CD has 27 songs, I was able to get the 1st 11, but on each of the rest it says ripping for about 10 - 15 minutes, then it says error and moves on to the next song. I have an un-used harddrive that I am trying to install in my new vista pc. It was listed as "not initialized". So I attempted to initialize it and recieved the message that it was write-protected. How do I get around this?

I have a Maxtor HD connected by firewire. I can access all the files on the HD fine. However when i try to remove it using the Safely Remove Hardware box it tells me it is in use and can't be stopped. After the Windows Updates on 11-13-2007, my DVD does not properly play commercial DVDs using Media Player. The video skips rapidly (less than a second for each scene) until the end is reached. Using Windows Vista Ultimate. ANy other reported problems? Any suggestions? Tried to update hardware driver but says I'm using the most current one.

After upgrading to Windows Vista I can't set my resolution to 1600 x 1200 anymore. The highest res i am getting now is 1440 x 900, icons are huge. Any ideas, am i missing something or do i have to wait for a later driver?

this a new one, i have the bose companion 5 speaker system which hoosk up thru a usb port sound and everything works fine until i plug my xbox gamepad in then the sound goes downhill its distorted and very scratchy like. when i unplug the gamepad and reboot the problem is gone sound is good. microsoft tech support is baffeled help? tom

I have a Dell B130 Inspiron Laptop. the laptop screen works fine when on charger. When I go to battery power the screen becomes washed out, colors are not correct and hardly readable. Purchased MS Wireless desktop 6000 v2 to replace a keyboard plugged into the PS2 ports. Installed derivers as instructed then followed prompt to reboot.
