Sooo frustrating! No matter whatever my mouse pointer glides over in any active window, there are INCESSANT popups telling me something about whatever word I touched or glided over. When I want information, I ASK FOR IT with a right-side mouse click! Can anyone tell me if this is a Vista (mal)feature and how I can have things MY WAY and stop this information vomit?

I'm using Windows Calendar (the one included w/Vista) for appointments, but I sometimes miss reminder messages, since they are popping up underneath other windows, and I don't always hear the chime. Well, fool that I am sometimes, I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional at Costco to put on my Dell laptop which is running Vista Home Premium. Hello Rick, Download http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 (ignore the titlle) and run it. Once the cleanup tool is installed, it will appear in Start, programs. Run it, and look for messenger program . Clean up messenger, if such an entry exists. -OR- Try to remove it with Revo Uninstaller (Free version)

My Dell laptop has been running non-stop for the last seven months. I use it as a desktop, connected to a large monitor. I have a cooling plate. The hard drives shut down after fifteen minutes.
