how do I set icon size with a one button mouse? by ToddAndMargo
Hi All, I had to remote into a Vista machine (WS08R2) from an Apple that only had one button mouse (AAAAHHHH!!). I had to move to a Vista machine to remote in and change the icon size as I could not get that stinkin' apple to right click with any combination of keys and mouse clicks. Now that it no longer matters, is there some

Many devices Disabled? by Chris LeFebvre
A friend of mine gave me a his HP notebook which recently developed a serious problem. It's an HP Pavilion DV6305 that uses an Nvida chipset and AMD cpu and runs Vista Home Basic. When he first bought it, I set it up for him with Eset's Nod32 anti-virus. The problem appears to be that at least 10 devices appear to be unable to load the associated device driver and in each case (looking in...

What After System Restore? by Mike[_54_]
Hi, I had the black/blue screen problem few days ago for the 1st time. Finally, yesterday, the System Restore worked fine and I got back the normal mode configuration. Next, I did open the IE and one file with no problem. Then thing got frozen and remained so for hours! Someone told me that I should have re-booted the machine when I got the normal mode configuration FIRST.

Those who report on the weather are also sick by Blanche Starinski[_3_]
I have also read posts about the weather in their windy city. This is so stupid. I think the poster has many mental issues and needs to seek psychiatric help right away. If they can't get help on their own, they should ask someone to help them seek out the help so they can get better. What a weird world.

Nobody cares about the Ubuntu countdowns by Blanche Starinski[_3_]
there are some mentally ill people who post a daily countdown of the next release of Ubuntu. Most people here do not care about the next release of Ubuntu and certainly do not care about an Alpha product. Most do not install Alpha products on their PC's unless they have a test machine. How stupid. Very very stupid people posting the countdowns. Too bad.

It seems that the running of sentences together takes a warped mind. by Blanche Starinski[_3_]
I have been reading some of the idiotic posts and there are some posts with the sentences running together. it seems like the people who run sentences together are disturbed mentally. I think they should seek psychiatric help right away and stop the posting. There must be something better to do with your time. Get anger management classes to start with.

How to Fix Vista Normal Mode PROBLEM? by Mike[_54_]
I had this problem this morning, never heard of before. My laptop wont allow me to log-in. In safe mode, I can log-in but Bill Gates IE wont run and things look ugly on the screen. Funny characters appearing by ggrothendieck
Programs on my computer (Vista SP2) frequently get into a funny mode where single quote comes out as an accented e, a double quote comes out as an accented E, a backslash comes out as an accented a and certain other characters come out funny too. It will happen in IE, Firefox, Chrome, gvim editor and possibly other programs. Usually if I shut down that particular program and start it again then...

UAC "OK" button greyed out by lisatwin1
Suddenly the "OK" button on UAC is unlit and I can't press it. I can't disable UAC because the screen pops up prompting me to press OK or Cancel, but OK isn't lit. Same thing if I try to change my user account type (which is administrator), when I try to use "elevated command), when I try to access msconfig, and when I try to run system restore. Basically, we can't do anything because the OK...

Windows 7 welcome screen by Zach[_4_]
I am aware that this is not a windows 7 group, there doesn't appear to be one. If there is please let me know. My question may nevertheless be answerable because there is much similarity between vista and seven. Question: Is there a way to get rid of the welcome screen and the necessity to enter a password when you start up? Many thanks, Zach
