I am putting together a new build and since PC-6400 DDR2 is sooo cheap I thought I might consider 8GB on an X38 board. I already have 2x2GB dimms, and was guessing if I went to 8GB it might be nice to have 4 identical DIMMS, which are still available (ie, another 2x2gb of the pair I have now). My GeForce 5200 is my PCs 'weaklink; in Vista Experience terms. Only 128mb on board mem. So I have seen the HIS X1550 PCI card which has 256mb on board memory. Anyone have this card? Thoughts? Concerns? Vista WILL let me unplug the old and plug in a new video card without going thru re-activations, right?

HIS X1550 PCI has 256mb onboard mem, is Vista certified, compared to my GeForce 5200 (?) which only has 128mb and is my Windows Experience weaklink, so thinking of upgrading. Thoughts? Concerns? I just purchased a Sony VGN-AR320E notebook that has a CD/CDRW/DVD drive release button on the left side of the keyboard. Hi I know there are no specific 64-bit Vista drivers for the nVidia 8800 graphics card yet, but would like to know if anyone is using one of those cards with the default drivers. Does it work, or the sysmtem behaves poorly???? Thanks Edric
