in hibernation-- turning off usb device connected via USB hub-- by
Robert J. Lafayette
Vista Home Premium, Desktop, several USB ports.
Issue related to Hibernation, not sleep.
Have a 7 port USB hub, to which a device (external HDD) is connected.
The device is a 120Gb external non a/c powered HDD.
I wish to have device turned 'off' when the computer hibernates (that is no
green light on device, no lights at all on the computer either).

Keyboard not connected to computer by
Robert Johnson[_3_]
I bought a brand new Windows Vista Home Premium a couple of days ago, and it
was working fine, until the day I turn it on and the keyboard isn't
connected. The mouse also wasn't working a few times, but the keyboard
refuses to respond at all. I tried everything I could think of that might
work.

No devices installed in Device manager by
Robert K
When I open Device manager on my laptop. It shows not a single installed
device. No sound card, no usb Hub, no video: Nothing. Somehow Vista has
decided to get rid of all the information about the devices on the system. I
want them back! How do I convince Vista that I do have a sound card?

I installed a USB driver for a Sony memory stick drive (MSAC-US1). Vista
initially couldn't install it and suggested installing it under recommended
settings. That seemed to work, but the is not recognized, and basically the
hardware installation failed.
However, the Sony USB driver is displayed in "Control Panel | Programs and
Features". When I try to unistall it, and InstallShield wizard...

Robert McN
I just got a new Dell desktop computer with Windows Vista Home Premium on it.
I need to add a PCI wireless card to be able to connect to the internet. The
brand I got was NetGear. At the store they told me it was compatible, but
every time I tried to add the card, Vista said it was not compliant and so it
basically shut down the process of loading the driver. I spoke with the
people at...

I have a very old scanner, an HP SJ 5200C. Now before everybody laughs and
tells me a should buy a new one I will probably consider that option so I

understand for this scanner or find out why the HP SJ software drivers will
not work in Vista for this model. The error I get in Vista in the device

ATI Radeon 7000 VE on Dell PowerEdge 1800 by
Robert Robinson
The ATI Radeon 7000 VE on-board graphics adapter is correctly recognized
by Windows Server 2003, but not by Vista #5536. The Vista beta 2
software from ATI also fails to recognize the 7000 adapter. Does anyone
know of a Vista driver for the 7000 ?
Thank you.

Wireless network won't go above 54mbps by
Robert Scriven
I have a Netgear DG834GT 108mbps router and 2 Vista Ultimate 32bit machines.
One with the matching Netgear 108mbps usb stick, the other with a Belkin
SuperG F5D7000 PCI card (Version 2). The router is set to "Auto 108" which
forces it to channel 6. Signal strength is excellent. Latest drivers are
loaded and latest firmware on the router. All Windows updates are installed.
On my old XP...
