Firewire (IEEE 1394) not working by
Hugo
I canīt connect my video camera Sony DV with the firewire connection.
I tried the two connections (frontal and back).I am using the 9 pin
connector
Before installing Vista It worked perfectly.
I can connect to my laptop (with a 6 pin cable) and to another older
computer with windows XP with the same 9 pin cable without problems.
As anybody a solution ?

Burn a Disc Message by
Graeme[_2_]
Hi,
We have some unusual behaviour with Vista CD/DVD Autoplay handling in
which every DVD or CD that is entered to the disc drive produces the
autoplay handler for Blank CD and hence launches the Burn a Disc
message.
With these settings, It is impossible to access any disc via the
explorer and it is necessary to use the cmd window to launch any
executable's that are available on the disc.

Dial up modems by
smlunatick
I am working on moving over to Windows Vista, in hopes of going
officially to Windows 7. I know I should be checking for Windows 7
but I have a full Vista Ultimate 64Bit. I have most of my devices
configured but I do not seem to get my GVC modem to install. It is
based off a Conexant processor and XP was able to use a "generic"
Conexant driver.
What can I do with this?

How can I delete a printer that says Deleting - offline by
drumz
I had a problem with Adobe Acrobat that has been resolved. I have a new
'Adobe Acrobat Distiller Printer' installed and all is well. I am trying to
get rid of the old one and it says "Deleting - offline" and stays that way
even after rebooting.
I can highlight id and press delete or right click delete or
Alt+File-Delete but it doesn't go away.
How do I get rid of this thing?

Corrupted files on USB Flash Drive? by
Nigel Molesworth
My son has done some college work at home and saved it directly to a brand
new 4GB FAT32 USB flash drive, which he Ejected before removal.
Now he is at college, and can't open the files. The directory structure is
visible, but when he tries to open a file (for example a PNG), Windows
reports the file is corrupted. He has emailed on of the files to me, and I
get the same result.
All the...

Bluetooth has stopped working! by
Simon[_6_]
I've started to get some problems with bluetooth on my Dell Vostro
laptop (running Vista Home Premium). Up until about 3 weeks ago my
bluetooth mouse was working fine and I was able to connect to my phone
via bluetooth. One day, the mouse stopped working and I wasn't able to
reconnect through all the normal procedures. I initially thought it
might be the mouse, so I got hold of another bluetooth...

Hi all,
I have an HP dv9700z laptop with Vista Ultimate 32bit installed.
I'm up to date all on all updates for Vista, including SP1.
I bought a Microsoft blue tooth notebook mouse 5000 and installed it.
It works fine except that as soon as it connects, I get this meesage:
"hid data has stopped working"
Then it asks me to close the program. The mouse still works however, up
until the next time...

Vista SP2 Router Problems by
bblancha
I just upgraded to SP2 and now my network response thru my Linksys
BEFSX41 router is terrible. Less than dial up modem speed for download
but upload is unaffected. Linksys had a new firmware update for this in
August 09 and I applied that. I ran a test and it appeared the download
speed was back to normal but after a few hours it is now back to 24k
download speed. If I connect directly to my...

How do I access info on 2nd drive thats not being recognized? by
oduinn
I've been reading up on why Vista 64 won't recognize my SATA 2nd drive.
(I'm new to all this and trying to figure it out as I go...)
I've read that I need to format the drive in 'Computer Management',
however, I'm not wishing to format it, I'm wishing to get the info from
it.
Computer Management shows -
Disk 1 (C:) 935 GB NTFS
Disk 2 149 GB Unallocated

I bought the above MS mouse and use it with Vista 64. It works fine. It has
on the side an ENLARGE button which also works fine, but I see no way how to
disengage it.
Who has such a mouse and knows the answer?

Stopping Windows From Installing Drivers by
Mitzidupree
Bouf!
I've tried stopping Windows from automatically installing/re-installing
my built-in webcam's driver, but it still installs it.
I know you could set it to "ask me" or "never check" on the "Hardware"
tab in "System" but nevertheless it still does.
Anyway to stop it completely? I don't want to disable it only, I just
want to completely remove it.

Audio/video problems & workaround (excessive delay/latency) by
Chuck[_2_]
Windows XP SP3 System
Some time ago, I started having problems with video and audio playback.
Odd pauses/glitches in either or both was more or less the problem.
Other less definable problems & delay may or may not also relate to this
driver.
I recently ran across a program (dpclat.exe) that measures DPC latency.
The program showed the problem and the results of disabling the Microsoft
USB...
