Router problem with Vista by
Andreas_0046
Hello
I have a problem regarding a router(D-Link 635), two computers (XP and
Vista) and a NAS (Synology Dj209). From the XP-computer I can explore both
the NAS and the Vista computer, but from the Vista-computer all I can see
when I explore the Network is the Vista computer and %%%CUST_DEVICE_NAME
(which then is the router). Since I can see everything from the XP-computer,
they all have the...

Long delay accessing VIsta file shares by
SlickRCBD
For some reason, when I try to access a Vista file share from a
Windows XP virutal machine, there is a long delay the first time I
access it before it gives me the directory listing. This delay
partially locks up the XP computer.
Also, if I try to access a Vista file share from Windows 98SE, either
the real computer or a virtual one, it causes Win98 to lock up
completely.
Vista has no problem...

Offline Folders Duplicate Locations by

Not sure where to post this, but my question is how can I send a message to
popup in another's user's computer in the same domain? I tried: msg user
message, it works if I send it to myself, but doesn't work sending to others
in the network.
Thank you.

Setting a start-up page for wireless network by
Jason Carlton
I'm helping a friend to set up a wireless network for his small
business, using Vista as the main terminal. He's wanting to set it up
so that anyone using the wireless network would go to his website when
they first log on, instead of their regular homepage.
I've seen this at hotels before, so I'm pretty sure that it can be
done, I'm just not sure how to set it up. Can this be done with...

Setting up users by
Daniel
Hi
I have an Ultimate PC private networked to a Home Premium with "Password
connected sharing
turned off, all other shares are on, except Media.
I can see each PC and their hard drives on both but when I try to connect I
am told
that the user account I am logged on as is denied access.

Access Internet on Vista via ICS enabled Windows XP by
ronnyfpatel
Hi,
Windows Vista Ultimate does not connect Internet through ICS enabled
Windows XP machine. Earlier, I could do it, when I had windows xp
installed.
After installing Vista Ultimate, I did necessary settings and could
access other Computers and files on LAN. (Not WiFi).
We have a main Computer which has broadband connection and ICS enabled.

Vista needs reset network adapter after wake up by
JN
Hi,
I have several notebooks with Windows Vista Business 32 installed.
After wakeup from sleeping mode, is necessary to reset network adapter to
get to the internet.
Otherwise only local network is reachable.
I disabled power off of network adapter during sleep mode, Disabled IP6. I
tried to install KB933872 but installation end because KB is not for my
operating system.

it is disconnected from the network. When I try to reconnect it never

Error: A cable is not plugged into the network adapter "Local Area Connection" by
hlliw
Hey all - having a rather frustrating experience with my computer.
I'm on Vista x64 with an ASUS P5N-SLI mobo and a Realtek RTL8139/810x
NIC.
The onboard ethernet stopped working on my mobo, so I bought a cheap
OEM NIC and installed it earlier today. The modem is reading it fine -
the PC link light is illuminated - but Vista seems to think that there's
nothing plugged into it.
