making local and network passwords the same by
Alan
Currently I have to log onto my PC (running Vista Business
Edition) and then (when I first need something on the network) log
into my network domain (specifying the domain). The passwords are
currently different.
Is there an easy way to securely change it to only require one
login?
Thanks, Alan

Vista Parental Controls Not Working by
joeUser
I can't get Parental Controls working in Vista. "Parental Controls" is "On"
for every account on my machine, but nothing is blocked. I get no errors.
Rebooting doesn't work. Manually adding sites to the "banned" list doesn't
work.
Thanks for your time.

Unable to change from static IP to DHCP by
Randy
I can go into the 4v tcp/ip properties and change the settings to use DHCP
and when I exit I am told that this requires a reboot. Don't understand why,
but it does.
I do the reboot and the changes are not completed the configuration is still
set for static.
Even when I try to change the static address it request a reboot. I thought
that was no longer required.

minor user name problem by
Zippy
Hi, all -
I've just set up a Vista install and I made a minor error entering a user
name - I hit the apostrophe when I went to hit enter, appending an apostrophe
to the end of the name. I can't seem to correct it. I've tried changing the
name via the user account panel, I've even gone so far as to completely
delete the user account. Still, whenever I install an application in that
account...

How can I create 2 users with differnt startup settings? by
salty
I was wondering if there is a way to create 2 separate users in vista (Vista
Home Premium 32 but) that have different startup settings. I want to create
one general user with all of vista's bells & whistles for general activity
like web surfing, word processing, etc., and one user that is very stripped
down without any non-critical startup processes (programs) running and all of

Strange contrasting Start Menu items by

Hi,
My friend got a strange contrasting "folder" name in her notebook's start
menu, as far as I know, that item is not allowed to be renamed.
Please refer to the following print screen files:

I would like to know if there is any solution to this problem except
