Interesting... When I download files from the internet into my HOME/Downloads folder they don't show up inside Explorer. I have tried using the command prompt but don't see them. Today my HP dv2517 laptop (Vista home premium) tries to check the disk on every boot-up. The check seems to run for a second or two and then hang (no disk access light). The names show up underneath the folders whenever I use any other size of folders, but when i switch to 'large icons,' the names disappear. This does not happen with any other folders in 'my computer'. Any suggestions on where the setting for this can be changed? Thanks, -Aaron

just bought a new computer with vista and i have noticed that i save, burn files to my e: drive,. check to make sure taht they in fact were saved only to find out a later computer session that they have been deleted even though my e: drive tell me that the disk has space that has been used there is no files listed Thanks inadvance

In many folders on my computer Explorer doesn't see a number of files. It will see some of them but not all. Could it be that the hard drive index is incomplete? What is weird is that other programs (Irfanview for one) can see these files when Explorer can't. Why would that be? If I want to manipulate them I have to do it from a program not designed for the task.

I am having trouble with my pictures folder and music folder which both look like normal folders and I would like them to be what they are intended to be please help.
