WMDC under Vista Home Premium 64bit by
Andy9406[_2_]
I have recently purchased an HP desktop running Vista Home Premium
64bit.
I have LapLinked across all the contents from an earlier HP running
Vista Home Premium 32bit. All appears AOK except for Windows Mobile
Device Centre which only transfered the 32bit update not the main
program. Whhen I try to remove it nothing happens, when I try to install
the 64bit version it says that there is a newer...

Display resolution changes spontaneously by
Ken Isaacson
Vista Business, SP1
Dell Inspiron 640m with integrated "Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset
Family" display adapter
Every once in a while, the resolution on my display will change
spontaneously, when waking from stand by. I don't power off my notebook too
often, usually just switching it to stand by when moving it from my office
to home. Now and again, when I wake it, I'll find that the...

How disable dialog for installing new driver by
j.lantz.bcn@gmail.com
Hi
I have developed a small application which connects a Bluetooth device
to Windows Vista. The Bluetooth profile is not supported by Vista so
each time I connect the device I get a prompt with 3 alternatives
asking me if I want to:
1. Search online for a driver
2. Try later
3. Ignore

Mouse Hover Activate by
Dick
Vista comes with a feature that I find simply annoying. If the mouse pointer
is allowed to hover over something for a few seconds it will activate it
without a click. I have searched all provided documentation and can NOT find
how to turn this feature off. Please tell me. You should put enable/disable
right on the mouse menu in control panel! Dick Foster

Andy Hauss
My sister wants to get a piece of software for her computer which runs
Windows Vista. On the site description it says that the software is
compatible with Windows 98 / XP / NT / ME. Will she be able to run it
on her Vista computer?

Copy Recovery Partition by
Frank[_63_]
I have a new Lenovo Y410 notebook. It came with licensed Vista Home Premium
pre-installed. The recovery partition is located in a hidden drive E: with
about 13 GB.
I would like to make an exact copy of this recovery partition on a DVD. It
seems like an impossible task as Drive E: doesn't even show in Windows
Explorer. Disk Management says it is EISA formatted.
The problem is that should...

Wierd SendTo Folder Behavior by
Jack[_7_]
I have Vista Home Premium and out of the box I could not find my SendTo
folder within Explorer. So I did a google search and found this link:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/customize-the-windows-vista-send-to-menu/
On the web page above it recommends that you paste
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
into the Windows Explorer address bar. After doing this I now have a Sendto...

Vista Calendar reminder question by
T&V Seitz
Am running Home Premium. In calendar options I chose "show reminders when
calendar is not running". Does this mean that the calendar reminders (I
have set to one day) are supposed to show, on desktop or somewhere else,
even if I do not open the calendar? If so, mine does not seem to be
working.

Andre

When I have a wireless usb mouse plugged in, my screen saver never turns on.
If I take out the usb connector, the screen saver turns on. Is there a way

Thanks, Andre

Microsoft and their support! by
Lee[_10_]
Well in just a couple of days it will have been
2 months waiting for my copy of Vista with SP1
which my tech stated that it would be shipped
o/a 19 Nov 2008 and would take 7 to 15 business
days. Now I have sent 4 messages with all the
correspondence as part and still have not heard
back even from a supervisor. I though maybe
my msg might have gotten lost but now I feel
slighted (grin).

A WORD file icon has a clear (blue) W in it.
An Excel file icon has a clear (green) X in it.

How can I prevent the FOLDER VIEW from changing in x32 Vista Business SP1? by
The Traveller
Since I have been using Vista, I have been frustrated in my ability to
lock a folder's "view" to what I select. I used all of the XP methods
and followed several other "suggestions".
One method I tried was...
- I select the view I want for a specific folder.
- I then select "View | Customize this folder".
- I check the "Apply this template to all subfolders"
