How to find out if power supply is compatible with Computer? by
GT
I've been looking around the web for a power supply and notice that some of
them have versions v1.3, v2.2, v2.0, v2.01, v2.03 and some just don't have
any at all. How do i find which version to choose from? I have no information
what type, version of power supply since HP support does not know. does the
version number on the power supply really matter? v1.1 v2.2, v2.0, v2.01,
v2.03. HP...

Logitech MX5000 + Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers by
Nightowl4933
I've just carried out a fresh install of Vista Ultimate, and successfully
installed the Logitech MX5000 bluetooth keyboard - to a point!
I'm now trying to use the bluetooth dongle to connect my Nokia N73 phone to
synchronise it with Outlook, which it seems to do, but I keep getting a "New
hardware found" message for "Bluetooth peripheral device" requiring a driver,
but neither the hardware...

My very quick config:
Windows Vista Ultimate

1.5 gig memory
Monitor is an older Dell 21" UltraScan P1110
After suffering from the Error 43 thing for several months, the other day (Dec 15), Windows Update
lists a "SiS Driver update for ". Of course, I installed it, then reinstalled the newest ATI display
drivers, and finally I see Aero working for the first time, for...

Install SATA drive by
PapaJack
I just ordered an XPS 410 with Vista 32-bit and a single SATA hard drive
from Dell. I wanted two physical hard drives (not RAID) but was told that
they could not install a second drive. The lady told me I could add it
myself. (I can't believe Dell has fallen this far!).
Anyway, I ordered a Seagate SATA drive and will install it when the system
arrives. I have installed IDE drives in the...

Resolution on Generic PnP Monitor on HP Pavilion DV2023TU Notebook by
kendollmelb
Hi all,
I've recently upgraded to Vista Home Premium on this 3 month old notebook
PC. Since upgrading, the Monitor is constantly showing as Generic PnP
Monitor and the Welcome screen seems to be set at something like 800x600
resolution. However, each account's resolution can be set at the correct
value of 1280x800 (widescreen).
I have downloaded the correct Vista drivers from the Nvidia...

Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit? 64bit? by
Dustin Harper
You would want to run the upgrade advisor or go to the software makers
website for compatibility issues. 3DStudio & Visual Studio both should work,
though (I know that VS does). 64Bit would support the 4GB and up RAM
configuration.
You could use either 32Bit or 64Bit OS with that CPU.

Microsoft Fingerprint Reader and Vista by

Has anyone else noticed that after installing the Microsoft Fingerprint
Reader with Vista (RTM) and the Vista drivers (DigitalPersona 2.0) that
Internet Explorer crashes most times when you try an close it?
I love the fingerprint reader and badly want to use it with Vista, but this
is very annoying..

Difference between actual/reported RAM by
Peter
When I had 2gb of RAM Windows reported 1.86gb. I just doubled it to 4gb and
it shows in the BIOS as 4gb but in Windows only 2.85gb. I realise that it's
probably being eaten alive by my video and TV-FM cards plus other
parerphernalia but isn't that loss a bit much?
Is there anything I can do to improve matters or should I just ignore it?

Vista 64's digital signatureing! by
Letsplayskatch
Hello all!
Ive recently put together a new PC for myself. It has an ASUS M2N-E
Motherboard which needs its drivers installed. When I put the CD in to
install the drivers, Vista says 'Cant execute Kernel Mode Driver
Service' and complains the Disc doesnt have a Digital Signature. This
is the same CD which came with my Motherboard, from ASUS.
Is there a way round this, as its doing my head in! I...

can't increase resolution by
Alex
In the display settings panel the slider for the screen resolution doesn't
let me select 1600x1200, which I always used on XP. It has everything up to
1280x1024 and 1920x.
I'm running 64bit vista with a radeon x700 card on a GNR cm1997fs monitor.
With the latest drivers for the gfx card, but only using the generic drivers
for monitor as GNR can't be bothered with updating their drivers....

"Bluetooth Peripheral Device" -- MANY Problems by
Marcus
I have been trying to install a brand new bluetooth mouse and keyboard on the
system, both Microsoft products, with nothing close to success. Inevitably,
the computer claims an inability to find drivers for the "bluetooth
peripheral device,"
which came with the set. I have upgraded to Intellitype 6.1 and point the
machine in the direction of that program when I am prompted to do so, to no...
