Sorry by LuLu
Sorry for the double-posting. I obviously do not know what I'm doing. However, I've been looking at some of the questions/answers and I believe ALL of my problems stem from allowing Vista to update. I really hate Vista. -- I hate Vista

On-Screen Keyboard is HUGE! by LuLu
I've tried everything to try to reduce my on-screen KB to it's default size, including 'system restore (4 times), which failed for some reason, shutting the whole thing off, restarts, etc. I have no idea what I did & it currently falls off the 18" x 20" screen so that I can hardly find the menu to 'exit'! Please, anyone have any idea? Thanks, much appreciated... -- I hate Vista

Dell laptop and Vista by debbie gallant
Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. A friend of ours is using a dell laptop running vista. His recovery drive is being used for storage and not going to the original hard drive(c). Is there a remedy for this? Can this be fixed where all the data goes to the (c) drive and not the recovery drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I mistakenly downloaded MS Winter Fun Pack 2004 for XP on my Vista computer, I didn't see that it said for XP when I downloaded and installed it. Using the uninstall in Control panel, I tried to uninstall. I got back an error (1713) message that say's 'can't install'. Please help me get this program uninstalled. Thank you.

External USB Hard Drive no longer works by [email protected]
I have been using an external drive for backup - but as of today, I cannot 'see' it in 'Computer.' It is turning, but not showing up on my monitor. Is there any way I can check to see what the problem is? The cables seem fine.

My On-Screen Keyboard IS HUGE! by LuLu
I don't recall what I did, but now my on-screen KB fills the entire 18" X 20" screen. I even had trouble finding the "exit" button to click on to get rid of it, as it was off the screen. The on-screen KB is about the only thing I like about Vista but it is not usable in its current size. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. -- I hate Vista

I am using Vista Home Premium 64-Bit. There are several other PCs mounted via LAN. Some with Map Network Drive and some with a Link //192.168.../c$ If all other mounted PCs are up and running, my PC is fast. But if only one of the mounted PCs is down, the PC becomes verry slow. Even if the pathes to the other PCs are not really need to be used it seams that Vista try to connect and wait for a...

Any programs or sites that re-install system files? by 93Rado
I ran a sfcscan and... It seems I have some corrupt files. This laptop doesn't have a recovery/reformat drive or i'd just reformat the laptop. Moreover, I don't have a recovery disc for vista, just Win-7. Perhaps anyone can pinpoint me in the right direction? I have the CBS file... However it's close to 24MBs... --

the computer locks instead of hibernating by Urizen
Hello! I am running running Windows Vista Business 32-bit in a Fujitsu-Siemens LIFEBOOK P8020 notebook. I also have a SuSe Linux Boot Loader installed because it also runs openSUSE 11.2 When I select hibernate from the shut down menu, the screen turns dark and then a message appears: "Locking computer...". After that the login-screen pops up.

Explorer Vertical Scroll Problems by LsR
I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on an HP Pavillian Laptop. I am having a problem with the vertical scroll bar in Windows Explorer. When I try to use the vertical scroll bar to scroll down in an Explorer window, the scroll bar jumps back to the top of the window. The same thing happens when I try to set a Screen Saver, the pull down window jumps back to the default (none)...
