I just added a new HD to my system, (3rd HD). Before putting the new HD in I removed the DVD drive letter J:\ so it would be last after all the HD drive letters. After getting everything set up and giving my DVD it's proper Drive letter of L:\, here's the problem. I do a lot of movie burning and like the Windows DVD Maker program for the Menu choices it offers.

Well, for some very odd and quite frankly stupid reason, Vista will not install the drivers for my sony dcr trv255e camera (...why allow the drivers to run on XP, then disallow them on Vista, itn't that a step backwards?) Hi this is gonna sound very stupid but I ran over my laptop but managed to save the hard drive and put it into a Hard drive enclosure which came with a cd. I used the cd on xp/2000 and it worked fine (except I couldn't see any of my much needed files for some reason) any way I tried to install the cd on to my new laptop (vista) and it said THIS PROGRAM JUST CAN RUN ON WINDOWS 98/WINDOWS 2000...

If I try and burn a data DVD from a drive folder window using the "burn" button the attempt fails - because it says: no writable media. Vey well, Windows DVD Maker has no problem burning a picture file to the same disk, as can the stand-alone program DeepBurn which burns data to a dvd -r with no problems. Vista has no problems reading CDs and DVD data disks, so what is the problem with Vista...

I've been having some problems with Vista going to not fully going to sleep and the only way to get it back is to power down and restart. Some times it works fine and others it hangs. How can I tell what program/drivers are still active when the computer is going to sleep? IM guessing its a driver not fully shutting down. Thanks, Mike

reading form device manager i have Optiarc CD-RW CRX 880 A device. it works fine for CD's but won't read DVD's. the label on my Acer 3100 says this is a DVD/CD -RW comb. if it is a DVD device why won't it work for DVD's.
