I have an Acer Aspire 1801 Notebook and I just have installed Windows Vista Beta 2 Pre RC1. Everything was allright but my Wifi wireless card does not work. I uninstalled the two programs Vista told me to (Norton and Nero), rebooted, and ran the installer. Everything worked fine until it got to about 45% and it gave me an error saying Vista cannot copy the files needed, with an error code of 0x80070017. This is trying to do an upgrade to overwrite an XP installation. Anybody have ideas? Edit: Forgot to mention, my PC is: AMD Athlon Dual-Core...

I have an ATAPI Travan 40 tape drive that worked great in XP. I've loaded Vista RC1 now and the tape drive doesn't show up in Device Manager. Does anyone out there use a tape drive successfully with RC1? If so did you do anything special to get it to work? TIA Tom Lake

Hello, for some reason, my CD/DVD drive will not recognize empty discs, so giving me issues burning Vista with Alchohol 120%. It works fine, because it reads my other CD/DVD's. I am probably gonna get some new CD-RW's to retry, but any suggestion/help on this issue?

Yo, I've run into a similar problem except on my primary display (secondary burnt out ages ago and I never replaced it :) My primary only display at 1024X768 instead of the 1280x1024 resolution it was display prior to upgrade to Vista RC1 32bit. For some reason, even my catalyst drivers are now saying my monitor can only display 1024... It's a 17inch CRT so I don't see why it isn't displaying...

In Vista RC1 you can turn off the enforced driver signature checking via the boot menu. Just press F8 for the advanced boot menu and select the option to disable driver signature checking and manually install the driver fix shown by Alex. Is SLI supported in Vista yet? I've downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia (which seem to have installed correctly with some quirks) and I don't see the enable/disable feature in the Nvidia control panel that I saw with XP. Plus, Media center doesn't display at all if I have the 2nd card enabled. What's the scoop? Thanks!

When I hibernate my PC the number lock light stays on! While this is obviously not the end of the world - it is annoying since my PC is in my bedroom and the num lock light is supprisingly bright. I should perhaps mention that this is with a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard (the lights are on the reciever) and I'm using the latest Microsoft 64 bit IntelliType Pro drivers...

As I cant install ActivSync is there a way to install software on my PDA without it under Vista I can view the contents of the pda ok.
