unable to connect to the internet by
arock
Hi.
I brought a laptop of mine over to my gfs today and connected it to an
existing network that her roommate has setup. I have not had any luck
getting it to connect either by wireless connection, connecting to an
ethernet cable to a wireless router which goes to the modem, or
connection to the ethernet cable which goes directly to the modem.
I had no problems with this laptop at my place...

Hello,
I have two computers on a home network running Vista Home Premium 64.
Is it possible to share a folder and give permissions to users on the
other computer without adding a specific account on the computer to be
shared? When I go into the security tab in the properties of the
folder, then edit the user permissions, then add user, I see the field
for location, but I cannot change the...

Broadcom 440x troubles under Vista by
Aaron Kelley
I've got a laptop running Vista 64-bit. It's a Dell Inspiron 1720. The
built-in network controller is identified as a "Braodcom 440x 10/100
Integrated Controller." (I believe Broadcom BCM4401 is the more specific
device name.) That this brand new, higher-end laptop did not come with a
gigabit ethernet controller gives me the irks, but, I have what I have.
I've seen several laptops and...

Always available offline missing from folder options by
bsharp[_2_]
I've been using offline files for months. As of yesterday, when I
right-click on a file, the "always available offline" is no longer
showing as a choice. I can select properties, then go to offline files
tab, and select it that way. How do I get it back to be available at
right-click?
I have disabled offline files, then re-started, then enabled offline
files, restarted, and it still doesn't...
