Crashed from sleep mode by MadBull
Hi, I'm running two monitors off one video card. My power button is set to sleep mode. My catalyst drivers are 8.8. Anyone else have this problem? Safe mode works just fine with one monitor but it...

music inserted in an e-mail by t-4-2[_98_]
Hello everyone, I posted the same question under " music pictures videos ", and I had an answer . Trouble is, the answer came in a form of a link which said "music background for Windows Mail and Outlook Express." The link used Outlook Express as example which started with Format tab background sound ,etc. There was no example for Windows Mail which I use. WM does NOT have Format tab. That...

How to troubleshoot spiking CPU/Hard drive graph? by gregrocker[_2_]
I have narrowed down my serious start up degradation on a Gateway ML3109 to spiking CPU and Disk activity as I start up and do almost anything on the notebook. Something is making various services, apps and drivers throw up errors about taking too long to start-up and shutdown. I thought I had narrowed it further to Sound drivers but updating and repeated reinstalls only reduced the...

Restore points as a solution to all problems by eganders
Questions: 1. I just found that I only have restore points back to the first week of August, but my computer was received in late June and I have been installing things right along. There is a checkbox that says to check it to get restore points older than 5 days, but that only displays a few more restore points. How do I get it to save restore points older than a few weeks. 2. Is there a way...

Which Registry Repair/System Maintainance software??? by goorambatman
There are a lot of System Fixers/Maintainers/Registry Repairers out there, which one is the best and what do you recommend? I've had good results with Registry Mechanic and heard good things about RegistryBooster 2 and noticed that they are Certified Microsoft Partners.

How do I specialize CPU cores for certain categories of tasks? by Sam[_15_]
I read in a long-lost PC Magazine that there was some utility (built-in or otherwise) that lets you specialize your CPU cores, e.g. core one for foreground tasks/programs\core two for background processes. I can't rember how to do this. Can anyone tell me? I see an option in Task Manager to move an individual process to one core, but not categories of processes. Thanks.
